Readiness advisory

CASE 04 / ENTERPRISE DELIVERY 2 MIN READ

Bring evidence to the
decision while it matters.

An Oracle Cloud HCM implementation was already in user acceptance testing. Our advisory team needed to identify material coverage gaps and communicate usable findings while the client could still act.

AT A GLANCE

Readiness advisory

The mandate

Establish whether testing covered the business scope.

My contribution

Lead the advisory workstream and clarify readiness risks.

The result

SIT-to-UAT gaps surfaced in two HCM modules.

01 / THE CHALLENGE

The problem to solve.

The analysis showed scenarios missing between system integration testing and user acceptance testing. At the same time, the draft findings treated a future payroll release as a current gap and risked overstating tracker-based evidence.

02 / KEY DECISIONS

Where I focused.

The central trade-off

The testing calendar suggested progress while the scope comparison showed an unresolved coverage risk. Readiness had to follow the evidence in the two modules rather than the label of the test phase.

  1. 01

Correct the scope before escalating the finding.

Reviewed the findings with the analyst and engagement manager. Reframed payroll as a planned future phase, and removed a claim about missing execution results that the reviewed planning documents could not support.

  2. 02

    Be explicit about the evidence.

Distinguished tracker-based observations from script-level validation. Used directional ranges where exact counts were not fully validated.

  3. 03

    Prioritize the remediation window.

Coordinated a concise findings package with supporting analysis rather than making a polished deck the prerequisite for client action. The analyst owned the detailed scenario comparison; I led the advisory workstream and communication.

03 / THE OUTCOME

What changed.

  • A material coverage gap surfaced in Absence and Time/Labor while UAT remediation was active.
  • The client-facing package separated current risks, future scope and evidence limitations.
  • A separate access-controls review remained a distinct workstream, preserving focus on the immediate testing decision.

04 / MY ACCOUNTABILITY

A clear line of ownership.

This case demonstrates advisory delivery and evidence-based escalation. It does not claim that the entire implementation was defect-free, that all identified gaps were closed, or that I owned the system integrator's delivery.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

A finding is useful when it is accurate enough to defend and early enough to act on.
